Bookshelves, they hold books:

We've had to custom make many meters of bookshelves to fill Adams and dress it as a bookshop.
Ian has just finished constructing over 27 meters of shelving for the shoot.
Now it's over the the rest of the art department to age and dress them.

Testing for tests:

Test footage has begun:
This is a small example of one of the many pieces of test footage that go into creating a film. This is a small test, shot for our studios in London to get their hands on and start animating to.
Books book everywhere:

Jenny has begun work sourcing the monumental amount of period books that we will need for the book shop. An estimated 4000 books will need to be sourced and aged before our shoot date.

Aged books
Ageing of the books.
Come fly with me!

Our full sized Spitfire.

Here are images of the spitfire we will be shooting in. (Currently under construction by Dylan Jones.) About Dylan:
'I spent five years as a sheet metalworker restoring traction engine lamps and making home decorative items from various sheet metals using fly presses. metal guillotines, english wheel and other traditional metal working equipment.  I am a qualified car mechanic and had a long held interest in aeroplanes so I started making my own full size replica Spitfire aeroplane.  I had previously constructed large models from scratch over a wide subject matter and I have previously worked on a Mark 1 Hawker Hurricane restoration. I have also attended numerous aircraft related courses to improve my knowledge of making large aeroplane structures.  Having gained knowledge on constructing my own Spitfire replica I am now embarking on starting my second full size replica aircraft and hopefully if there is interest and demand a few more.  My replicas will be constructed using lightweight durable materials which will replicate the exterior detail of the original and can have cockpit items fitted to add authenticity to the replica.  As long as I have drawings I can reproduce most aircraft.   As a car mechanic familiar with working on new and classic cars, I can also make replica vehicles for films and events using metal fibreglass and woods as appropriate.'

Bookshelves, lots of bookshelves.

Introducing Ian, a new member of the Art department.

He is our go to man for construction.
Currently working on one of the many bookshelves we are having made for the film.

Fresh in from our studios in London:

This is our 3D model of the spitfire.

This model is a template, but an essential one as it is the building block to ensure high quality animations.
Locations:

As you will know a film is nothing without good locations. Our Art Director Jenny Stevens has already been working hard and produced some gems.
These photos show the early stages of location fixing. - Before set design has come in and transformed the space into a WWII scene.

Our Art Director:

Introducing another new member.

Jenny Stevens. - Art Director.
Jenny comes with many years experience. Coming from a fine art background Jenny can bring many new skills to the project. She has a deep understanding and ability to ensure that the props both sourced and bespoke, costumes, locations, and set dressing are correct to the time period. Like Deb, (our script writer) Jenny has worked on many projects with the theatrical group The Field Theatre Group. She has recently turned her hand to film making, producing and art directing period pieces such as The Horseman's Word (currently in production) & Common Ground.  Her more recent work on The Field of War, a multi media production for the 100 years anniversary of WWI means her contacts and knowledge for this area of film making, are priceless.

Time for some animation:

A new team member!

This is out animation and illustrator located in London (Loz).
Loz is taking time out of his busy schedule as an illustrator to join the team.
We welcome Loz onto the team, his job is simple in theory but difficult in practice. The film will contain multiple scenes of a Spitfire in a dog fight. The cinematic shots of the hand drawn animated plane as it rushes across the book spines diving and rolling in it's impressive dog fight will be down to this guy.

Posts of his work to follow.
The script is here:

Production draft of the script is here!

After many drafts and careful thought, we are proud to say that the production draft of the script is ready.

Let production begin! Huge thanks to Deborah Curtis Watson for all her hard work and research on the scripting and creation of the script.
Work has begun! Day 1. - Script Writer!

We are pleased to announce a new member of the team.

Deborah Curtis Waston.
Deborah is a local highly talented, published, award winning writer. She has a wide range of work under her belt, her two most recent publications, Landlines & Isle of Ghosts .

Deb is known in the community for  her work on many stunning productions with the theatrical company, The Field Theatre Group. As both the writer and director she has seen many productions through from start to the curtain call.

She recently has turned her hand to film making, more specifically   writing and directing short community films, Common Ground The Horsemen's Word (currently in production).

Deb's deep understanding and knowledge of The Fens and East Anglian history, not to mention it's characters, makes her the perfect candidate to lead this film forward. Her writing not only inspires and captivates it's readers, but her ability to bring differing members of the community together in  cohesion and play with their dynamic leaves us excited to see where this WWII script will go.
